State of the art in anticoagulation – challenges and opportunities for pharmacists
ESCP is the European leader in advancing quality and innovation in clinical pharmacy. Every year they organize a two day workshop Symposium. In 2019 the topic is ‘state of the art in anticoagulation: challenges and opportunities for pharmacists’.
We hosted a 4h workshop ‘NOAC – what the FAQ’ together with PharmD. Aris Prins (the Netherlands):
Aim of the workshop – Provide participants with the necessary knowledge, insights and tools to overcome these challenges in their daily practice.
Learning Objectives Participants:
1. Will learn the different dosing regimens of the four DOAC, with the indications and duration and the importance of accurate dosage (under dosage is also a big problem!)
2. Will be able to intervene and give objective advice in case of possible dose adjustmentWill have an understanding of the importance and different types of non-adherence
3. Will get practical advice how to manage and promote the safe prescribing and dispensing of DOAC
