Implementation of MEMS in community pharmacy – a feasibility study

Adherence to anticoagulation with atrial fibrillation is suboptimal and can lead to an increased risk of stroke. With this feasibility study, we want to evaluate if and under what circumstances MEMS can be used in real-life by community pharmacists to identify possible non-adherence.

Patients using Humira can use Health Beacon, a smart tool for managing their adherence. KAVA, APB & Abbvie have developed a pilot project that allows pharmacists to counsel patients on their adherence, using the Health Beacon.
