Silas Rydant (Pharm.D)

Silas Rydant is an independent pharmacist with a clear vision on the future of pharmacy practice and highly motivated to support the professional development of pharmacists. 

Silas obtained his Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Ghent in Belgium in 2010. He started as pharmacist ad locum and combined this with different positions as scientific collaborator (University of Ghent and BCFI) and tutor Pharmacology (Syntra Midden-Vlaanderen). In 2015 he became Board member of the Royal Pharmacist Association of Antwerpen (KAVA), where he is currently responsible for the development and implementation of interprofessional educational programs to improve the safe and rational use of drugs. He’s also involved in different scientific projects.

In November 2017, he was invited by the National Health Insurance to give his views on the topic ‘adherence in oral anticoagulation’ in the RIZIV/INAMI consensus meeting the rational use of oral anticoagulation in AF/VTE’.

Special interest: oral anticoagulation care, vaccination, auto-immune diseases and interprofessional education.
